What do you see as affordable? I see affordable at less than £400 a month, if they are semi's that are £120,000+ then thats not affordable or indeed viable for young people in Feath on minimum wages of £5.80 an hour. These people earn £200 a week less tax which leaves them about £150 a week. If they have to pay £400 a month to live in a council house and they can't really afford that then how the hell can they afford £600 a month for a 120 grand semi?
Some young people will never ever be able to leave home in the forseeable future and never have an opportunity to own their home or even rent one for that matter. Its not just the cost of housing its the fact that some daft bastard introduced a minimum wage thinking it would stop young people being taken advantage of, instead it had the effect of every employer in the Country thinking 'I'm gonna pay ALL my staff the minimum wage, what a good idea'.
Now we've got 40-50 year olds on £5.80 an hour when previously they were on 8 and 9 quid an hour. It kind of set the president of how people would be paid in the future and if we won't work for that money there's plenty of Polish folk that will.
That minimum wage decision thrust this Country back into poverty almost over night and until someone raises it to 8 quid an hour we are going to have more and more poverty.
We are back in the 1930's and heading for Victorian britain with its slave labour.

Just been looking at the plans that have been passed for the development of Girnhill estate there is quite a lot of affordable housing planned for there. All being well this work should start soon . Once the CPO has been sorted on 16th and 17th October. ;) ::)

Thats the spirit always look on the black side your cup is obviously half empty. TALK UP THE TOWN NOT DOWN. if its crap then lets complain and i will be complaining with you but lets give it a chance. It might rain tomoz but then again it might not for gods sake cheer up.
My cup is neither half full or half empty, I'm looking at this from facts. The facts are that no cheap housing has been developed in the 5 towns on an half decent basis. All we have are a few pokey houses at lister close.
Companies have been allowed to throw houses up all over the place that locals can't afford and are occupied by out of towners. Therefore the emphasis is to provide for the wealthy and not the poor. If you can prove me wrong then go ahead.
Meanwhile, perhaps you could try and persuade people that existing town occupants are more important than bringing in the middle classes. Well I doubt that you would because you don't care about poor people anymore - no one does. They are simply in the way of future plans. Flatten all the council houses in Fev and have done with it, then bring em all in from elsewhere.
i boloxed my reply up earlier, sorry

Obviously we’ve all been hearing a lot about Jimmy lately but I cant understand why people would wait until he’s dead to report the allegations of sexual assaults, some of them going back over 40 years ??

I cant understand why people read the other forum and don’t reply then repeat it on here  :-\  Anyway if the roads were 100% around Fev then nobody would have a problem with block paving  but there not they are a disgrace, work needs prioritising so the worst get done first, it’s a bit like wanting to ice a cake before its baked. As for a disgrace to the town lol  ;D  i did chuckle  :-*
